MIURA selected Yokofudori as the opening of this game and HABU accepted it with 8.Rx3d . Replying HABU's 10.P*8g , MIURA backed his Rook onto 8d , and he moved up the King with 11.K-5b . Then the game became a classical Yokofudori San-San Kaku senpou line .

GOUDA backed his promoted Bishop with 18.+B-7e and forced HABU to escape his Rook . After one Pawn sacrifice , GOUDA dropped another Bishop with 20.B*1h and successfully promoted this Bishop . While these moves , HABU must move his right Gold and Silver for right side of his camp and these pieces couldn't work effective without many moves . In this game , GOUDA played his 1st move 1.P-2f . This move shown , GOUDA wanted to select Aigakari in this game . But HABU declined it with 1...P-3d , and he selected Yokofutori by 3...P-8e . And the game advanced main line of Yokofutori San-San Kaku senpou , and until 9...S-2b the position was almost same line as 3rd game of this title match .

GOUDA selected different line from the 3rd game with 10.K-5h . By this move , GOUDA seemed to want YAMASAKI ryu line . In many games , Gote players select 10...K-4a the most common line . But HABU selected 10...R-8d , relatively rare line .
