ITODANI lead the opening "Ittezon Kakukawari" , and he selected the variation without P-2e P-8d . This variation is reratively rare variation . Many professional shogi players select the variation with P-2e & P-8d .

Shogi News; HABU won the 3rd game ; Kisei sen

Shogi News ; Kisei sen

6:48 P.M. , after 91 moves until HABU's G'7e , HABU won the 3rd game of Kisei sen .

Then the score of this match become " SATO 2 win - 1 win HABU" .
SATO need one more win to defend his title "Kisei" , and HABU need two win without any more lose to get this title .

The 4th game will start 8 July 2008 , at Matsuyama Ehime .

Shogi News; 3rd game of Kisei sen started .

Shogi News ; Kisei sen ;

3rd game of Kisei 5 games match between SATO and HABU started 2 July 2008 A.M. 9:00, at Sumoto , Hyogo .

Sente; HABU Yoshiharu (Meijin , Osho , Oza)
Gote; SATO Yasumitsu (Kisei , Kio)

6. G-7h G-5b(6a)
7. K-6i P-4d
8. G-5h G-4c
9. B-7i S-3c
( diagram 1)

HABU selected "Yagura" , and SATO accept it . HABU choiced "3. S-7g", but many professional shogi players choice "3. P-6f " when they selected "Yagura opening " . I don't know why HABU choiced this move .

SATO seems to plan "Hayagakoi" ; after Bishop moved to 3a , King move into Yagura gakoi by 4b->3b->2b and finish making Yagura with G-3b . By this plan , SATO can castling his King without Bishop's move (from 3a-> 4b , 5c or 6d) .

(diagram 2)

11. S-3g B-6d

15. K-7i P-9e
16. K-8h N-7c
17. P-2f R-8a
18. P-2e K-5b
(diagram 2)

HABU made the attacking form with "S-3g" , if SATO selected "Hayagakoi" tactics HABU may move P-3e to make Yagura kuzushi formation . SATO didn't select "Hayagakoi" and prevent HABU's plan by B-6d .

HABU made Yagura gakoi , and castling his King into Yagura . But SATO didn't castling his King to 2b , his King moved 5b !!

The game still continue . You can see this game on the Net .
