KUBO selected Haya ISHIDA opening as the opening of this game with 2.P-7e . AKUTSU selected 2...P-1d line . After the Rook's move , KUBO started making Kakoi .

AKUTSU quietly moved up the right Silver with 4...S-6b . In stead of 4...S-6b , AKUTSU could open a battle with the line , 4...Bx8h+ , 5.Sx8h B*4e . But AKUTSU didn't select this line . (sample game ; The 59th NHK cup ABE vs YAGURA )

Suddenly KUBO pushed the 7th file Pawn and opened the battle with 5.P-7d . In many case of Haya ISHIDA (include MASUDA shiki ISHIDA ryu) , such a move ; P-7d is not effective against the opponent's reply with G-7b . In this game , AKUTSU also replied with 5...G-7b . But in this line AKUTSU's 2 moves ; P-1d & P-1e became useless moves , and the development of his camp delayed .

KUBO dropped a Pawn with 7.P*7d and his left Knight jumed 2 times with N-7g , N-6e and joined attacking .

MORIUCHI's King escaped from the battle field with 14.K-7h , and SATO advanced the 3d-Silver with 14...S-3e . MORIUCHI pushed the 5th file Pawn and moved up the right Gold with G-5h . These moves made a defect in MORIUCHI's camp . The defect is an opponent's Bishop drop on 3i .

After sacrificin the 7th file Pawn with 17...P-7e , SATO dropped a Bishop with 18...B*3i forking 2h-Rook and 7e-Pawn . MORIUCHI's Rook didn't escape but MORIUCHI pushed the 5th file pawn with 19.P-5e .

MORIUCHI advanced the 7th file Pawn with P-7d aiming at 8b-Rook's temple . Replying SATO's Pawn drop with 20...P*3f , MORIUCHI's Rook escaped from 3i-Bishop's power and threatened the 3i-Bishop with 21.R-3h . SATO's Bishop escaped and promoted with 21...B-7e+ .

After some moves , MORIUCHI dropped a Pawn with 23.P*5b . Because this move is a check , SATO must reply it . But SATO's every reply will give MORIUCHI a next attack . If SATO captured the Pawn with Rx5b , MORIUCHI could drop a Bishop with B*6c . In the game , SATO captured the Pawn with 23...Gx5b , and MORIUCHI dropped a Bishop with 24.B*2b and promoted the Bishop capturing 1a-Lance .

After some moves , SATO's King was slowly attacked from both side , and MORIUCHI seemed to get an advantage .
