SATOMI won over SHIMIZU again . (Jo-ryu Meijin)

Shogi News : The 36th Jo-ryu Meijin sen ; 5 games title match

4:33 P.M. , 31 January 2010 , after 138 moves , SATOMI won the 2nd game . And the score of this match becomes "SHIMIZU 0 --- 2 SATOMI" . Now SATOMI needs only one more win before 3 continuous loses to get the 36th Jo-ryu Meijin title . In the other hand , SHIMIZU needs 3 continuous wins without any other lose to defend the title .

The 3rd game of this match will start 10 February 2010 at Shogi Kaikan , Shibuya ku , Tokyo .

SHIMIZU quickly advanced her Rook Pawn with 2.P-2e forcing SATOMI to moved up her Bishop with 2...B-3c . SHIMIZU opened her Bishop line with 3.P-7f , SATOMI moved up her left Silver with 3...S-4b without closing the Bishop line .

SHIMIZU moved up her King with 4.K-6h to start making her kakoi . Replying SATOMI's Pawn push with 4...P-5d , SHIMIZU exchanged the Bishops and dropped a Bishop with 6.B*5c . SATOMI also dropped a Bishop with 6...B*4d to prevent SHIMIZU's Bishop promotion .

After moving up the left Gold with 8...G-3b , SATOMI swung her Rook with 9...R-5b making Nakabisha formation .

SHIMIZU made Funa gakoi and SATOMI made Kata mino gakoi . SHIMIZU developed her Kakoi to Yagura gakoi and SATOMI also developed her Kakoi to Kata Ginkanmuri .

SHIMIZU moved up her 4g-Silver with 27.S-5f making Koshikakegin form and aiming an attack with P-4e . SATOMI pushed the 5th file Pawn with 27...P-5e forcing the 5f-Silver to back , and she captured the 2c-Pawn with 28...Gx2c .

SHIMIZU slid her Rook with 29.R-4i and exchanged the 4th file Pawns . During SHIMIZU's 4th file Pawn exchange , SATOMI repaired her camp .

SHIMIZU advanced her 5h-Gold to 4f to join attacking , SATOMOI advanced the 4b-Bishop with 34...B-2d aiming at the Gold and 5g square . SHIMIZU sacrificed the 7th file Pawn with 35.P-7e to open the 7d-square and dropped a Bishop with 36.B*3h aiming at this square .

YASHIKI made a frame of KIMURA mino gakoi and MATSUO moved up his right Silver with 10.S-4h to make Kin mino gakoi . But before completed Kin mino gakoi , MATSUO slid his Rook with 11.R-8h threatening the attack in the 8th file .

MATSUO exchanged the 7th file Pawns and slid the Rook with 15.R-7h forcing YASHIKI to drop a Pawn with 15...P*7c protecting the 7d-Silver . MATSUO made Kin mino gakoi with 17.G-3h and developed it to KIMURA Mino .

YASHIKI backed his Rook with 20...R-8a and swung it with 24...R-1a aiming at the 1st file . MATSUO dropped a Bishop to defend the 1st file and YASHIKI advanced the 2nd file Pawn with 26...P-2e attacking the 2f-Bishop . After MATSUO's 8th file Pawn exchange , YASHIKI advanced his left Gold with 30...G-2d to join the attack in the 1st file .

After the Bishop exchange with 15.Bx2b+ , SUZUKI jumped his left Knight with 16.N-7g escaping from the 8h-Pawn's attack . AONO made a promoted Pawn with 16...P-8i+ .

SUZUKI captured the 7d-Pawn with 17.Rx7d! threatening a fork . If , AONO captured this Rook with ...Sx7d , SUZUKI would drop a Bishop with B*5e forking the 2b-King and the 8b-Rook . AONO pushed the 6th file Pawn to avoid this fork .

After some moves , both players dropped their each Bishop with 18...B*4d & 19.B*3f . SUZUKI jumped his left Knight with 20.N-8e and continued attacking . Some moves seemed to give SUZUKI a remarkable advantage

With 1.P-5f , KAI shown her attitude to select Nakabisha . SHIMIZU quickly advanced her Rook Pawn with 2...P-8e forcing KAI to protect the 8th file with 3.B-7g , and kept the rank of the 5th file with 3...P-5d .

After the King's move to 2h , KAI exchanged the 5th file Pawns by her Bishop and she exchanged the Bishops with .Bx2b+ . After completed Kata mino gakoi with 13.S-3h , KAI advanced her left Silver with 16.S-6f and moved up the left Gold with 17.G-7h to make attacking formation .

SHIMIZU exchanged the 8th file Pawns by her Rook and KAI jumped her Knight with 19.N-7g threatening N-6e . SHIMIZU pushed the 6th file Pawn with 19...P-6d to prevent this Knight jump . KAI moved up her 6f-Silver with 20.S-7e attacking the 8f-Rook . SHIMIZU captured the 7f-Pawn with 20...Rx7f to avoid the line ; 20...R-8b , 21.P*8d . KAI slid her Rook with 20.R-8i threatening the Rx8a , without protecting the 7e-Silver .

SHIMIZU simply captured the 7e-Silver with 21...Rx7e , because she couldn't prevent KAI's 22.Rx8a+ . SHIMIZU's attacked 4a-Gold moved up with 22...G-3b making Gangi gakoi . KAI attacked SHIMIZU's Rook with 24.P*7f , 25.L*5i and 26.B*5f . SHIMIZU sacrificed the Rook and attacked KAI's camp with 26...P-3f .

KAI dropped a Rook with 28.R*8a and continued attacking . After some moves , KAI sacrificed 2 promoted Rooks and still ocntinued attacking .

A shogi game of the Ginga sen C-block between KUMASAKA and TANAKA was broadcasted 5 November 2009 .

After both players opened the Bishop line with 1.P-7f P-3d , KUMASAKA moved up the King with 2.K-6h . This move has a meaning to decline Gote's Gokigen Nakabisha with 2...P-5d . If Gote still tried to select Gokigen Nakbaisha with 2...P-5d , Sente would get an advantage by making a promoted Bishop . (more detail , please see my blog ; Yamajunn's Shogi opening trasps )

TANAKA moved up his Bishop with 2...B-3c instead of 2...P-5d . KUMASAKA didn't exchange the Bishops , but moved up the right Silver with 3.S-4h . TANAKA also moved up his left Silver with 4...S-4b to support the 3c-Bishop and started making Nakabisha formation with 4...P-5d & 5...R-5b .

KUMASAKA slid his Rook with 6.R-3h and pushed the 3rd file Pawn with 7.P-3e started attacking the 3c-Bishop's head .

KUMASAKA made Nimai Kin gakoi and Katou ryu San-Hachi Hi senpou like attacking formation . KUMASAKA started attacking with 20.N-2e & 21.P-4e . TANAKA replied pushing the 5th file with 21...P-5e to counterattack .
