MORIUCHI selected Yagura as the opening of this game and HABU accepted it . The game ran along a typical line of Shin Yagura Niju-yonte gumi for a while .

By HABU's 9...S6b-5c , the game came into a variation of AKUTSU ryu . HABU exchanged the 5th file Pawns by his Bishop and MORIUCHI turned his Bishop trying to exchange with 14.B-4f .

HABU declined the Bishop exchange by 14...S-6d and both players developed their each Kakoi . After completed Yagura gakoi , MORIUCHI jumped his right Knight with 21.N-2e to join the battle .

After some moves , MORIUCHI sacrificed the 5th file with 28.P-5e and started attacking with 29.P-3e .
