Shogi News : The 35th Kio sen ; challenger deciding match

The 1st game of Kio sen challenger deciding match between SATO Yasumitsu and YAMASAKI was started 10:00 A.M. , 22 December 2009 at Kansai Shogi Kaikan , Osaka .

With 4...Bx8h+ , YAMASAKI selected Ittezon Kakukawari as the opening of this game . SATO made a Hayakuri Gin attacking formation with 10.S-4f and YAMASAKI made Koshikakegin form .

SATO exchanged the 3rd file Pawns and YAMASAKI advanced the 8th file Pawn . If SATO moved up the left Silver with 13.S-7g to prevent the 8th file Pawn exchange , YAMASAKI would get an advantage by Tsugi Fu attacking technique ; 13...P-8f , 14.Px8f P*8e , 15.Px8e Rx8e ; forking the 3e-Silver and the 8i-Knight .

SATO dropped a Pawn with 13.P*3d forcing the 3c-Silver to back . SATO pushed the 1st file Pawn with 14.P-1f , different from the previous games .

SATO moved up his right Gold with 15.G-4h defending the 4g-Pawn to prepare the 2nd file Pawn exchange . YAMASAKI dropped a Pawn with 15...P*3c to use the 2b-Silver .

Before the 2nd file Pawn exchange , SATO floated the Rook with 17.R-2f . YAMASAKI exchanged the 8th file Pawns and SATO dropped a Pawn again . YAMASAKI didn't advance the Silver with 19...S-4d but backed the Silver with 19...S-2b again .

SATO jumped the left Knight with 20.N-7g and YAMASAKI's 8f-Rook escaped with R-8b .

After some moves , SATO made a Ginkanmuri and YAMASAKI made Nakazumai Gyoku formation . SATO backed the 3e-Silver and crush it against the 5d-Silver with 29.S-4e .

After 81 moves , SATO won the game and he becomes the challenger of the 35th Kio sen title match .
