MORIUCHI selected Kakukawari as the opening of this game and WATANABE accepted it . The game seemed to advance Kakukawari koshikakegin doukei line . But replying WATANABE's 11...P-4d , MORIUCHI changed the line .

WATANABE perhaps dislikes Sente's P-4e form . The following moves is one example ; 11...P-9d , 12.P-9f G-5b , 13.P-4e .

After pushing the 1st file Pawn , MORIUCHI advanced the 2nd file Pawn with 13.P-2e , and the game advanced completely out of Kakukawari Koshikakegin doukei line . WATANABE moved up the 4b-Silver to decline the 2nd file Pawn exchange . And MORIUCHI moved up his left Silver with 14.S-6f to add a piece around center .

Replying 14.S-6f , WATANABE exchanged the 8th file Pawns . MORIUCHI crushed the 6f Silver against WATANABE's 5d-Sildver with 17.S6f-5e .

WATANABE's 5d-Silver backed with 17...S-6c to decline an exchange . MORIUCHI turned his Rook with 18.R-4h to add an attacking piece . WATANABE pushed the 5th file Pawn to force the 5e-Silver to back . And WATANABE moved up his left Gold with 19...G-4c to defend the 4th file .

MORIUCHI exchanged the 4th file Pawns with 20. P-4e . After the Pawn exchange , WATANABE moved up his King to make a Kakoi . MORIUCHI dropped a Pawn in the 4th file to attack .

WATANABE didn't capture the 4e-Pawn , but slid his King with 23...K-3b . If he captured the Pawn , the game might advance following line ; 23...Px4e , 24.P-1e Px1e , 25.Sx4e P*4d , 26.P-2d! Px2d , 27.P*2b . The game would be very rough one . In other words , WATANABE avoided such a dangerous line .

After capturing the 4d-Pawn , MORIUCHI's King escaped from battle field . WATANABE backed his 6c-Silver to fasten his camp .

MORIUCHI sealed the 51st move .
