Shogi News : The 20th Jo-ryu Oi sen : 5 games title matcch

The 2nd game of the 20th Jo-ryu Oi sen title match between ISHIBASHI and SHIMIZU started the morning of 14 October 2009 at Sapporo city , Hokkaido .

After both players opened the Bishop line , ISHIBASHI moved up her right Gold with 2.G4i-5h . This opening is sometimes seen in TANAKA Torahiko's game . In stead of 2.G4i-5h , 2.P-2f or 2.P-6f is more popular for Ibisha player . Perhaps ISHIBASHI wanted to avoid SHIMIZU's Yokofutori or Migi Shiken Bisha .

Replying 2.G4i-5h , SHIMIZU advanced the 8th file Pawn . While SHIMIZU advanced the Pawn to 8e , ISHIBASHI closed the Bishop line with 3.P-6f and moved up the Bishop with 4.B-7g to decline the 8th file Pawn exchange .

ISHIBASHI moved up the 5h-Gold with 5.G-6g to protect the 6f-Pawn , and preparing making Yagura gakoi . SHIMIZU advanced the 5th file Pawn and moved up right Silver to support the Pawn .

While SHIMIZU was making her Kakoi , ISHIBASHI completed Yagura gakoi and started exchanging the 5th file Pawns . During these moves , ISHIBASHI turned her Rook to 5h to add a piece in the 5th file . SHIMIZU's Rook also came to the 5th file defending here .

After the 5th file Pawn exchange , ISHIBASHI was making her attacking formation . During ISHIBASHI's building , SHIMIZU was also making her Yagura gakoi . SHIMIZU cost one more move in the right Gold's move , but one less move in Bishop's move .

After both players' King entered the Kakoi , ISHIBASHI started attacking with 26.P-4e .

After sacrificing the 4th file Pawn to open the Bishop line , ISHIBASHI exchanged the 3rd file Pawns threatening the Bishop promotion into 7a . SHIMIZU blocked the Bishop line with 28...S-4d attacking the 3e-Bishop .

ISHIBASHI once backed her Bishop with 29.B-6h and SHIMIZU dropped a Pawn with 29...P*3e to block ISHIBASHI's Bishop line . Sacrificing the 1st file Pawn , ISHIBASHI continued attacking .

Until 45...Kx3c , ISHIBASHI seemed to get a slight advantage .

6:53 P.M. 14 October 2009 , ISHIBASHI moved 65.B-2b+??? . But this is an illegal move and she lost the game .
